Acronis Competition

Thread needs solution

Been looking at alternative backup programs since True Image 2014 has been driving me mad with update notices for he 2015 version which should win a Golden Raspberry award.

Came across Macrium Reflect free version, it allowed partition and file/folder backup, image verification, bootable rescue iso, scheduling, compression and security that blows away Acronis.

Macrium Reflect does 256-bit encryption and compresses files better than Acronis.

Best of all it has a easy to use interface and doesn't hide the list of folders it backs up. Acronis just shows a useless blue progress bar. 2015 version looks like a throwback to software from the 1990's.

Purchased the full version of Macrium today. All I can say, wow, this app does the job and does it right.

Couldn't agree with you more. I've been using it for quite some time(I also left Acronis) and couldn't be happier. Their support is second to none. You made the right choice.

Acronis True Image does support 256-bit encryption as well. And it has three levels of compression.
ATI also supports backups to Cloud - Macrium Reflect does not it.

What about "AOMEI Backupper" ? There's a free version and a paid version with lifetime upgrades and free technical support by e-mail.

Also EaseUS ToDo Backup Home and Workstation. Brand new version 7. Also a free version that does basic backup and restore from a WinPE disk, created with the program. AND...it works. I have already backed up my laptop using the Workstation version.
