Acronis is creating a continuously backup

Thread needs solution

Hi,

Please some advice for my weird problem. I running Acronis True Image 2015 since last year without any problems, backups are automaticcaly sents to Synology NAS.

Due to a hard drive crash on NAS I created a new backup folder on the NAS  as well a changed the destination path in Acronis. So far so good.

The next day I notticed that the backup folder was full with backup files. . According to the backup scheme it should not made more than 5 differential versions with a maximum of 2 chains. See attached picture.

After two days I got more than 100 files..... Even deleting all the files and creating a new scheme from scratch was not succesfull. fed up with this error I decided to delete the whole Acronis backup, so no more schemes were present anymore, but even than Acronis is creating backups.

What can be the issue of this?

I tried to unistall Acronis, but it gives me the next message: "No True Images components found".

Thanks

Emial

Emial, it sounds like something in your ATIH 2015 installation has also got corrupted when your NAS drive crashed.

I would recommend going for a clean reinstall of the product and starting again.  To do this, uninstall ATIH 2015 via the normal Control Panel > Programs and Features option, then run the Acronis Cleanup tool (link in my signature below), and then make a clean install, preferably after downloading a new copy of the program from your Acronis Account.  This will ensure that all the configuration information has been cleaned from the C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\ folders.

hi Steve,

Thanks for your reply. Your right. I re-installed ATIH15 from scratch. (uninstall from control panel is not working, but when executing the ATIH install file it will ask you to uninstall your current version first, which I did)

So rebuilding the ATIH15 after the new install was really succesfull. Instead of 1Tb of backup files in two days..... now ATIH is working like it should.(one incremental/differential backup file each day)

By the way, my wifes pc had exactly the same issue with ATIH2015 version after the NAS crashed. So your comment upon a corrupted ATIH2015 due to a crashed NAS is right.

Thanks again
