Acronis didn't backup C Drive

Thread needs solution

I have been using AcronisTI 2009 and have been backing up my Hardrive which I thought included 2 partitions C + E only to find out when my computer had crashed that it had only been backing up the E Drive. One of the things I wanted to backup was my emails which included all my rego's etc. Now I find that this didn't happen. I have downloaded the trial 2010 version and was able to view the backed up files on my laptop to check what had been backed up.

Now my problem is I have contacted support asking if they have a copy of my rego for my 2009 paid version and haven't had a reply. (No I didn't register the information online - another lesson learned) Will I have to purchase another copy i.e the 2010 version and can someone please tell me why it didn't make an image of my C Drive

I ran Acronis every 2 days to my external 1TB hardrive to make sure I had an image of the total Hardrive and it was up to date. I use Windows XP and all updates where done.

Now I have to re install all my programs etc and I have lost data I really needed. So this doesn't happen again how do I set up the program to work correctly.

Thanks
Vanessa

Hello Vanessa,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.

I have found your order in our database and registered the Acronis True Image Home 2009 license under your account.  To get the access to the product key and the installation file please log in and go to the Products and downloads section.

You can learn more on how to download the installation file here.

To find the exact reason of why the program has backed up the E drive instead of the C and E drives is impossible now. We need the  log files of the operations.

That's why please install the program, manage and execute a backup operation and analyse the log file. You can attach the file to your next post.

 - Launch the program;

- Tasks and logs, Log;
- Choose the log entry which contains errors and make right-click on it;
- Select save option and specify the desired location for the log file to save to;
- Attach the log.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.

Thank you.

Hello Oscar,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.
To resolve the issue please go to this article and download the appropriate Acronis driver update, install it and reboot the computer to complete the changes. After that see if the issue remains. if the issue still persists, download Acronis Report utility available here and run it, create a report and attach the file to your next post. Please compress the Acronis Report output file into an archive (e.g. with WinZip) and attach to your message by browsing for the archive.

This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

Please let us know the results, we should be sure that the program runs flawlessly. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other questions do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.
Thank you.
