Acronis doesn't completely launch - transparent window only

Thread needs solution

When I launch Acronis True Image 2015 on my HP desktop (working fine on newer laptop) all I see is the outline of a window that can be minimized and restored using the Acronis button on the task bar. I let it sit like that for over an hour and nothing appears in the outline. What can I do to launch/run the application?? It wasn't doing this before.

Try to uninstall, reboot and reinstall.

No luck. I uninstalled and reinstalled and rebooted the computer. And now, after the reboot the computer a popup says that the trial period is over even though I have a paid version. I guess I need to put in the serial number or something but I cannot see anything in the window that opens. And when I mouse over this area on the screen the cursor changes (to a hand pointing and even a text line) so I know that it thinks its running and the window is visible ... but its not. All I see is the faint outline and my background as if it were completely transparent. Ugh!

I just noticed you said to reboot in between the uninstall and reinstall. Does that make a difference? I uninstalled, reinstalled, then rebooted.

I went back and tried the order you originally suggested and it didn't make a difference. Oh well.

As for your main window vanishing problem have a look at this post starting with post #3. Seems some recent windows updates have caused some users similar problems.

Success! Thanks Enchantech! Uninstalling Windows update KB3057839 resolved the transparent UI screen issue. I hope this gets worked out with Microsoft.
