Hello John,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/ | Acronis True Image]]

Could you please provide us with the exact title of your product? What is the build number of your Acronis software? You can find out the build number by selecting "Help" option, "About".

We are looking forward to hearing back from you.

Thank you.

Hello Oleg,

The product I have registered is Acronis true Image 9, build (2.323)

Thank you for your attention.

John.

Hello John,

Thank you for your response, I understand now the reason of the encountered issue. The CD you own doesn't have the necessary drivers. Acronis True Image 9.0 Home is an outdated version of the program, and you are using an outdated build of the version (the latest build of Acronis True Image 9.0 Home is build #3854).

To resolve the issue I am sending to you via PMs two ISO files to create Acronis Bootable Rescue Media:

1) The latest build of Acronis True Image 9.0 Rescue CD.

2) The latest build of the trial CD of Acronis True Image Home 2010. The recovery is available for the trial version, and the archives are compatible.

Therefore, please perform the following steps:

- Please create Acronis True Image 9.0 Rescue CD and boot the system from it. If it works flawless, you will be able to recover the archives. If you are unable to use it, please create Acronis True Image Home 2010 CD.

Acronis True Image Home 2010 is an up-to-date version, and I think that it will be able to recover the archive. In this case I would recommend you to upgrade you license to Acronis True Image Home 2010.

I may recommend you to install a trial version to try the program. If you would like to purchase the upgrade, please visit the Acronis online store.

Thank you.

In regard to acronis not being able to see one of my internal hard drives, I downloaded the ISO build utility and the ISO burn utility to make a bootable CD. On my main computer I have the Home edition 2009. On my other computer which is the one that cannot restore from the drive which is not recognized, I have acronis version 6.0. (I like this version for my wife because it is so dog gone easy to use).

My question is ... will this boot disc with the ISO build work on version 6.0, because as I boot into that computer, fortunately it does now see the subject drive that has the acronis backup.

I want to make sure this will work on 6.0 before taking a chance and trying it.

So far so good..............................Bill

Hello Bill,

Thank you for posting. I will do my best to assist you.

If I understood the issue correctly, you want to boot your computer but version 6 does not detect your hard drive. You are thinking of using Acronis True Image 2009 Home bootable media to boot the computer and recover an image created with version 6?

I am afraid that will not be possible because Acronis True Image 2009 Home is not backward compatible with Acronis True Image 6 Home.

As a workaround, to salvage any data that you have on the hard drive, you can try using ATIH 2009 and create a file backup from which you can always recover your data.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
