acronis home 2009 can I create an Acronis secure zone after pc has data on it

Thread needs solution

Hi all forgive me if this seems a dumb question ..but I re built my pc sometime ago and put acronis home 2009 on it..created a recovery disc..and that was it !
Now after some considerable time I've had a chance to play around with the product the question I have is : if I create an Acronis secure zone on my now used 'C' drive will the partition delete or make any data unavailiable once the secure zone is created (as data obviously gets spread about a hard disk ) out of a 500 Gb h/disk it says Acronis needs 176 Gb
thanks Colin

As you have a PC I would guess that you would have the possibilty of adding an extra hard drive. If you want to take full advantage of a secure zone that would be the best place for it.
The secure zone was originally conceived as being a place to store backup images on the drive being backed up when there was no other place either internal or external to store the images. In the case of a complete HDD failure one would still be up the creek without a paddle!
Most users with only a single hard drive installed probably go for an external drive to hold their backups and do not use a secure zone at all.
I use a secure zone on an additional internal HDD because I can then let TI run scheduled backups without having to remember to connect up an external drive. Internal to Internal drive backups can be several times faster than using an external drive.
My own view that to protect all the contents of a main hard drive one needs two additional HDD drives. One to store the backups and one to regularly test the backup process to be certain I am never caught with my pants down.
