Acronis image backup fails with "Unable to create volume snapshot"
I've been using Acronis True Image Home 2009 to make image backups of a particular partition (not the boot partition) for some time with no problems. However I have now increased the size of that partition using third-party software. Everything went fine and I can read & write to the resized partition. However when I try to use Acronis to back it up it now says "Operation has completed with errors", and does not create a backup file. The log says "Operation with partition "3-0" was terminated. |Details: |Unable to create volume snapshot (0x70021)| Tag = 0xA56958... |Failed to lock volume snapshot. (0x10C449)| Tag = 0x1418... |Already locked (0x()| code=E00..7)| Tag = 0xABF..."
I've run chkdsk /r and it reports everything is fine, although at the beginning it does say that the volume is locked by another process, and I have to force a dismount. Although nothing should be locking the volume, I've shut down all other programs and the problem still occurs. Any suggestions as to what is causing the problem? Thanks.
