acronis loader

Thread needs solution

A problem with acronis loader.  I updated the BIOS on my system (W7 pro, main board - ASUS P6X58D-E) which went perfectly normally using the ASUS updater.  However, I had installed the acronis loader (sometime ago and not updated with each upgrade of Acronis TI) to assist in re-installs (although I never needed to do any and never used the loader).  When I boot up, after POST the system goes straight into the acronis loader which simply gives me options to go into the acronis program or to obtain system reports. Neither in this page nor in the acronis program is there any means to get into windows.  Whatever I do, the system restarts and I end up at the acronis loader.  Any suggestions would be very welcome.

D B, welcome to these user forums.

What version of ATIH are you using here?

Do you have the Acronis bootable Rescue Media on CD/DVD or USB stick?

If you don't have a copy of the rescue media, then assuming that you registered your ATIH product with Acronis, you can download a copy of the ISO CD image from your account and burn this to a CD.

Boot from the rescue media and use this to deactivate / remove the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager (ASRM).

Thanks very much for this.  I had just installed ATI 2016.   I had the bootable media, have run it and it seems to have freed up whatever was wrong, ie simply by running it, as I was able to get into windows.  I did not have to remove the ASRM.

I suppose I should have removed ASRM before updating the BIOS.

I guess I should now, as a precaution, remove the old ASRM and reinstall this under ATI 2016?  or do I simply run the "install ACRM" tool from within ATI 2016?    thanks again for your help.

D B, you should remove / deactivate any older version of the ASRM and replace this with the version provided with ATIH 2016 if you want to continue using this.  This will ensure that you have the latest device driver support for some of the new hardware that ATIH 2016 build 6571 now supports.
