Acronis one click backup

Thread needs solution

I just installed acronis true home image 2010 and I am trying to use the option of 1 click backup but when I click on it I get an error of "tag=0x0". Does anyone know how to fix this. I tried their forum but I can't seem to log on to their site.

thx

I don't think many users here use that feature.  What happens if you go the "normal" backup route - Backup>My Computer>etc.

I posted smthing related to that, see one-click problem posted on sep 20th, I believe. My opinion is, one-click is a fake feature, when someone tries, it doesn't work and everyone tells you "why don't you do that with the usual backup"?

it's as though you bought a car with cruise control, you complain it doesn't work and the customer care people told you: you're so weird,  why would anyone use that feature? have you tried simply the old gas & brake-pedal way?

yes it does work, tried it once, no I don't use it either.  for me at least TI_2010 did NOT work when installed with an older version already present (upgrade install). However it DID work after doing a complete un-install then reinstall on what is then a clean system.  If your still having issues open a support request, for me at least they were responsive and helpful.

had the same issue, still no fix, also had the same problem with install, must admit this is not the first time installation quality control didnt work, had problems going 8 to 9 also, great product... install could be improved.

Anybody got any cures..

Hello all,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

First of all, we have to exclude the issue with simple backups, just to check whether it's related to One Click backup especially. Could you please perform the same backup, but in usual way? What will happen?

Also, could you please make screenshot with the error and send it to us?

If you are not familiar with making screen shots, please read the below step-by-step instructions.

- Get to the window which you want to make a screen shot of;
- Hit the (Alt+)PrintScreen button on your keyboard;
- Run Paint usually available in Start\Programs\Accessories or another graphics application;
- Choose Paste command in Edit menu;
- Save the result picture in JPEG format being preferable.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

The normal backup works. One click doesn't - I get the same tag=OxO error. It appears from the posts, that Acronis has no fix for this issue. Please notify me if a fix is found.

I guess Thank you

I get the same error. I temporarily disabled the realtime-scan from my antivirus scanner (mcafee). After this action, it works fine on my computer.

I get the same error.

Copie of details:

Interner Fehler

(0x0)
Tag = 0x0

And windows XP shows me data error of my external hard disk.
On the "one click backup is a task on suonnday 20oo". This task I cant eliminate. If Ihave choosen "nie", but on the next start will be written: Task on sunnday 20oo!!

Is there a discussion about this error in german?

I also have this problem with the trialversion: ....... 2010_d_en.
The version i bought: .......2010_s_en do not have this problen and seems to work ok!
Do not know wy??

Regard Hans R.

I ran the program for the first time and it seemed to be hung up, because after 5 minutes nothing had changed, so I closed it down. I rebooted the system and when I tried again it gave me the error you see below. I was not even able to back my computer up one time with this product. Your help will be very appreciated.

Colin - thank you.

My Acronis 2009 was about to expire so I took advantage of your ATIH 2010 upgrade.

The installation appeared to go OK so I decided to do a backup using the Acronis One-Click Backup button. It failed. With an error (0x0) Tag = 0x0. So I clicked on the Acronis True Image Home 2010 button and it failed also. Same Error... (0x0) Tag = 0x0.

I don't want to have my credit card company deny the request for payment, but I'm not going to pay for something that doesn't work either.

Until such time as I can successfully make a backup to my system I don't want the 30 day free support clock to start ticking.

Please advise. Thank you,

Thomas,

If that's your home phone number it isn't a good idea to publish it on an open forum such as this. You might also want to remove your invoice number as with the details given someone else can pretend to be you, even though hopefully they don't have your CC details.

Hello all,

I will do everything possible in order to resolve the issue you experience.

In order to investigate the issue and provide possible solution I would recommend everybody to submit support case and attach the following diagnostic information.

1) Device Tree. It allows us to see the drivers attached to the hard disk(s) and its (their) volumes. From Device Tree we can see third-party software drivers which can be the reason of Acronis software malfunction.

Windows XP:

- Download and unpack the Device Tree application:

http://download.acronis.com/support/devicetree.zip

- Run the application;

- Completely unfold the \Driver\Disk and \Driver\FtDisk branches;

- Move the margin to the right in order to see all the items;

- Make a screen shot and send it to us.

If you are not familiar with making screen shots, please read the below step-by-step instructions.

- Get to the window which you want to make a screen shot of;

- Hit the (Alt+)PrintScreen button on your keyboard;

- Run Paint usually available in Start\Programs\Accessories or another graphics application;

- Choose Paste command in Edit menu;

- Save the result picture in JPEG format being preferable.

Windows Vista:

- Download and unpack the Device Tree application:

http://download.acronis.com/support/devicetree_Vista.zip

- Run the application from "i386" folder (run the 64-bit version of Device tree from "x64" folder if you have Windows Vista 64-bit);

- Completely unfold (click on all plus signs) the \Driver\partmgr and \Driver\volmgr branches;

- Move the margin to the right in order to see all the items;

- Make a screen shot and send it to us.

2) Please also attach sysinfo file to your request.

- Open Start\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Information;

- Choose the "Save" option in the "File" menu (or "Action" menu under Windows 2000), enter the "File name" and set the field "Save as type" to "System Information File (*.NFO)";

- Send us the saved file.

3) AcronisInfo. Use this KB article for step-by-step instructions how to collect it.

If you are not using the latest build 6053 of Acronis True Image Homer 2010 you may want to update to it.  I am not certain if the issue is addressed in the new build at this point, however it is generally a good idea to be up to date. You can download it from your account under Registered Products.

Jurg this is an English speaking forum but you can contact German support relating to the same issue using the following link

We are always at your service should you have any further questions.

Thank You.

I did basically what Frank Wedinger did and I got a backup run. Thank you, Frank!

Mind you, it wasn't the One-Click Backup method but I got my system backed up the using the conventional method none the less . . .

I use Kaspersky Internet Security (with Anti-Virus), so I Paused Protection on it which is the same as disabling it, and tried the One-Click option but I got the same old Internal error (0x0) Tag=0x0. Then while Kaspersky was still in the Paused Protection mode, I tried the conventional method of clicking on the TrueImageLauncher button and WaLa!, I was able to complete a successful backup.

Now I can sleep. Thank you again, Frank, for the great idea!

Tom

Try This:
Open Acronis True Image
Go Tools and Utilities
Click One-Click backup in Protection Tools
Make One backup
After One-click backup on the desktop work for me.

or just schedule the backup and wait till it is in the queue and when the time has PASSED for the backup to start just eject your external hard drive and then reconnect. It will show something you haven't seen before!! NOTE: you have to be able to see schedule tasks in TI to pull this off. When your backup is done you will have full control of One Click. Really this one will work!!! You may have to try it a couple of times to get the feel of what is going on. I have spent numerous days trying to fix this with no help from anyone. I thought that I have seen that type of error before then in dawned on me that the structure of the error was similar to a USB stack problem that I was having. Guess how my external hard drive is connected to my computer? If you guess USB then you are right!! That was a clue for tech team and not a slam against you all!!!

Post Scriptum

I have never seen software that has provided as many opportunities to become a "purchased Beta tester" as this one3 has. I have literally replaced every major function of this software at the direction of the TI Techs assigned to monitor this forum. Actually by proxy because I never talked to a tech (just to be fair!!)

I elected to use this software because I was so impressed with it BEFORE I migrated to Windows 7. It works great as a migrated program. Then the 30 days ran out. At that point I opted to use the Windows 7 backup. There wasn't enough flexibility with that because I am a maniac with my computer. MY fault but my use should be met regardless.

So to all of you, to include myself, that have beta tested this with your own time after paying should really ask Acronis one question. Are you really going to charge me for this?

One click seems like a joke. It may make a quick backup but isn't ongoing protection. I thought newer version would be better....I'll keep trying to get something that works...

Previous versions had a nice setup where it would do a full then incrementals automatically. Where did that go? Looks like non-stop.
