Acronis only creates full backups

Thread needs solution

Hello,

although I have chosen incremental backup, Acronis only saves full backups. Does anybody else has this issues? How can I solve it? The NAS-Harddrive runs full very quickly...

Regards,

Achim

Hello Andrea,

There are several reasons why this could be happening.  The Acronis database or task script could have become corrupted, or incorrect backup options chosen - it is difficult to know without more information.

How many backup tasks have you created?
How many of these tasks show this problem?
Have you made any significant changes to the problem task?

I would recommend stopping the problem task, either turn off the schedule or remove it.
Create a new task with a new name and to be stored in a different target folder on your NAS (this is important to avoid any confusion with the problem task and any backups created for it).

If the new task works correctly to produce a full then incremental backup images then keep that and remove the problem task and associated backups (once you are satisfied they are no longer needed).

If the problem continues even with the new task and new destination folder on the NAS, then the following steps are recommended.

First, stop all active Acronis True Image programs and services.  You should open the Services.MSC console and stop the 4 Acronis services shown there (Managed Machine Mini, NonStop, Scheduler and Sync), plus open Windows Task Manager and end any TrueImage programs - look at the Description in the right column, i.e. Acronis TIB Mounter, True Image Home & Monitor).

Next, open the C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\ folder and rename the Database folder to Database-old - this will be rebuilt when the Acronis programs and services are restarted.

If you want to make a clean start, you could delete all task scripts in the Scripts folder (or move these to somewhere else).

Restart the Acronis Services then relaunch ATIH 2015 normally to restart the programs.

If you have cleared the scripts folder, you will need to recreate your backup task again.

Test to ensure that the backups are working correctly.

If all of the above does not resolve this issue, then the next step would be to remove ATIH 2015, run the Acronis Cleanup tool (link in my signature) then reinstall ATIH - get a clean copy of the installer from your Acronis Account so that you have a complete clean start.
