Acronis P2P
I am running Win 7 Home Premium Edition 64 bit and want to be able to install a new motherboard which probably will not boot because of significant hardware differences. I am told that Acronis P2P will allow me to transfer the present configuration, installed apps and all, to the machine after installing the new MB and having all the apps and customization up and running. Where do I find the P2P feature? Right now I only have TI installed and it works just fine under Win 7.
Do I need to get another Acronis program to provide P2P under Win 7 and run it prior to the swap out?
If I have posted this to the wrong forum, I apologize but this seemed the appropriate one.
Thank you very much.

You will almost certainly require the plus pack because so much of the configuration will be different; not only drivers for the mb chipset but also audio, video, and all sorts of IO devices will require a totally different configuration. It is very unlikely your pc would boot with your current system drive.
There should be no problem with any of your data of course but I would back all that up seperately. If there are any application settings or files you may want to keep which reside within C:/Documents and Settings/Application Data for instance then I would back them up seperately too, just in case they get lost.

OK, I have downloaded and installed the Plus Pack but darned if I know what to do now. The only thing that shows up in the All Programs list under the Plus Pack is WinPE ISO builder. I execute it and it ask me for the folder containing the WinPE files. Where is that and how do I proceed to get the P2P feature?
Sorry to be so dense but I'm in over my head I think.
Thanks again.

The plus pack requires you to make a rescue CD using the Media Builder option.
The plus pack runs from the CD. You can check that PP is installed by checking in the About box and it should now state Plus Pack.
