Acronis performing unscheduled task prior to backup
Last week I bought and installed Acronis True Image Home 2010. I have created one scheduled task—make a backup file of my C: drive and overwrite the previous day’s file.
Thirty (30) minutes prior to the scheduled task Acronis attempts to do something (I do not know what it is). It fails and logs the attempt. It gives me the error message 1326—bad credentials (the “credentials” are correct!). That day of the month is red on the calendar under “Task Management.”
Then, thirty (30) minutes later, at the properly scheduled time, the task (backing up the C: drive) is carried out, the drive is backed up, and the file saved to the assigned drive. The log shows “Operation has succeeded”.
Then I have to go into the storage drive (H:) and manually remove the previous day’s backup file.
This has been happening since I installed the software last Friday (the 12th). I had an online chat with Shekhar that was of no help at all. I generated and e-mail him a “System Report” and not heard anything in return.
The program is not working properly. Please help me fix this ASAP.

I tried that and it didn't solve the problem.
I understand the need for user name and passward, that's why I said it was correct.
There's just one user, me.
The build is the most recent (I forget the number).

What TI services are running?
Even though you are the only user, did you install TI for single user or multi user?
Did you download TI from Acronis or from a reseller?
Have you tried uninstalling TI and re-installing?

Check your scripts folder for which you should one have one entry. Also check your Windows scheduled tasks.
There have been numerous postings of backup consolidation issues similar to yours. Hopefully, the next release of a new build will solve this problem--if I am understanding the cause correctly.
In the meantime, consider using oracledba's Chain2Gen free helper program.
Chain2Gen(C2G) is a helper program which help the user to preserve the proper number of backups and to assure that you get full backups at the user desired internal. C2G is easy to install and setup.
A TrueImage task does the scheduling and backup creation and then the C2G provides assistance in housekeeping the correct number of backups, etc.
I suggest that you investigate it as a stable solution to your issues of consolidation.

I only have one scheduled back up task at 6 p.m. every third day, but my ATI 2010 is doing a back up at 3 p.m. on those same days. I get the 1326 error code and a red square in my scheduler. The correct back up says operation succeeded but because of the 3 p.m. back up it says fail in the scheduler. I am reasonably computer literate but Chain2Gen is beyond me. With so many people having this problem can't Acronis just put out a fix? Please help!

Yeldarb,
Chain2Gen can't fix your 1326 error problem but it can help you manage the retention of backups and when full backups are created. Click on my signature below and download the pdf in item 3B. This pdf is a step by step guide on how to create the setup of Chain2Gen. It is easy to follow and may help you to have a better understanding of how to set up Chain2Gen to your specs.
You might try this for a fix to your 1326 error.

This could be another possibility as a 1326 fix.
