Acronis Rescue Media CD ROM won't boot on HP All-in-one
I installed ATI 2011 on a HP All-in-one running Windows 7. That all seemed to work just fine, set up the back up routine, created an image of the HD, Then created a Rescue Media Boot CD.
The CD will begin to boot, and it shows a ATI 2001 Welcome page that is a bit oversized, then the computer reboots. It doesn't get to a menu to choose to recover or boot windows, etc.
The CD will boot fin on a Lenovo Notebook. The CD was created on the HP so I'm fairly confident the CD is a good CD.
HP suggested that Acronis is not compatible with their computers. Is this possible?
This was all promted because the computer needed to go back to HP for service. Of course, like any high end hack, they can't return it without slicking the HD. Now I can't recover my Acronis backup image on an external HD because the CD won't boot. Is it possible to load ATI 2011 onto the clean install of HP Windows and recover the entire drive from within the Win 7 environment. I dread having to start from scratch, and certainly don't want all the HP new computer trial software and HP crap that comes with their version of Windows 7.
thanks,
Bubba
