Acronis Rescue Media crash on exit
I just upgraded to 2015 build 5539. I built an Acronis Rescue Media bootable CD which runs somewhat better than 2014 (no long delays between screens), but like 2014, crashes on exit. When 2014 crashed, it would allow me to power down and reboot. Not a problem. However, 2015 somehow managed to disable the power switch on a Sony VAIO Flip 14a laptop, requiring that I shove a paper clip into the reset hole to shut down the system. 2014 does not do that on the same machine, so this is a new and improved debugging feature/bug. The difference is that 2015 core dumps on exit and spends far too much time creating a massive report, which goes who knows where. Here's the last few lines near the core dump.
create: Trying to create window before creating parent window
Aborted (core dumped)
134
revert out tty .... success
revert in tty .... success
Collecting report .........................................
The dots continue endlessly for at least 10 minutes, when I decided to punch the reset button with the paper clip. If the Rescue Media really does require that it crash on exit, could I trouble someone to at least make it crash more gracefully or perhaps disable the debug flag so that it doesn't try to save the core dump?

David, welcome to these User Forums.
If your cloned SSD drive is booting into Windows OK and all seems to be working correctly, plus you have removed the source SSD drive (that you cloned from), then hopefully the problem you saw with 'core dumped' is just coming from the rescue CD that you used for the clone process.
I have never heard of any SSD making loud popping/cracking noises so hopefully (again) this is no longer happening and the SSD is running silently as would be expected?
Not sure that I can offer any further help on this topic unless you are seeing other problems in using the OEM ATI 2015 software that come with your SSD.

Yeah it seems to be running fine, booted up ok and been working ok. So I guess the core dump is no big deal. According to op core dump is common with 2014 and 2015 I guess? some bug or something and no big deal?. If so instead of delete and clone again I will begin transfer everything to the new SSD. Any test or anything to make sure the core dump was nothing?
I don't hear the popping sound anymore, hopefully it's nothing but anyways it's not acronis related.
thanks!

David, I don't remember seeing many posts in the forums for 'core dump' issues and given that you were booted into a Linux kernel OS environment from the Rescue CD, this should have no effect on how you boot into Windows, assuming that the clone was complete, as it looks to be now that you have been booting Windows OK and using the new drive.
