Acronis security issue when running manual backup

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have a strange problem with TM 2011 that started just recently and I don't know what triggered it.

If Acronis Scheduler2 service runs under the Local System account, the schedule works, but I cannot run the same backup manually, I get an error 1326 (Cannot login with specified credentials - please see attached).

If I change this service to run under a different account, then the manual backup works, but the schedule doesn't.

I would appreciate your help.

Hello Peter!

Thank you for finding time to open the thread regarding this issue. I understand your concern and will be glad to assist you.

First of all, please note that Scheduler should start from the Local system account by default, and we strongy do not recommend to change it.

It's hard to say for sure due to the lack of investigation information, but looks like the issue's caused by the Scheduler glitch; which can be solved by updating it.

Please go to the Start -> Run -> services.msc and stop there all the services related to the Scheduler. After that please run the update as mentioned in this article.

Should the issue persist, please gather the following data:

  1. Acronis System Report
  2. What's being backed up
  3. Exact sequence of steps performed

After that please kindly contact support directly with the information attached. Keep in mind that should there be any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify us the case number. We will do our best to speed up the process.
