Acronis Services

Thread needs solution

I'm wondering whether it is essential to have these 5 services running all the time.

  • timountermonitor.exe
  • trueimage.exe
  • afcdpsrv.exe
  • schedhlp.exe
  • schedul2.exe
  • syncagentsrv.exe

I do not use the Non-Stop Back-up, I rarely use Try & Decide and all my backups are done overnight, when I'm not around.

The rest of the time, these processes combined are the single biggest user of memory on my PC. Since I am not using them during normal working hours, could I not switch them from an Automatic Service to a Manual one, starting them as and when needed. I do a lot of photo work on my PC and any spare memory is welcomed.

I found an answer from 2010 on the forum that suggested I could perhaps disable

  • timountermonitor.exe
  • trueimage.exe

but it did say this might not apply to later versions. I do not even want to disable them, just switch them from automatic to manual.

Any help welcomed.

Thanks

  • Are these really services? I am running 2011 on my machine now and I don't see them. There is a startup item called TrueImageMonitor that can be disabled. It makes the System Tray interactive (notifications and the ability to start ATI from the tray).

  • afcdpsrv.exe
  • Only needed for Non Stop backup or Try&Decide. Can put be to manual start

  • schedhlp.exe
  • This is one is a startup item in 2011. I cannot check 2012 right now. Don't touch.

  • schedul2.exe
  • Necessary to run ATI on schedule or manually. Don't touch.

  • syncagentsrv.exe
  • Only needed if you use Sync. Can put to manual start.

Are these really services? You are spot on. I was wrong to call the services. I was lloking at them in aProcess Monitor, and it lumped them in with the real Services.

Anyway thanks for the prompt and helpful response much appreciated. I'll change the ones you've OK'd.

    Thanks again
