Acronis splash screen shows "Analyzing partition D:..." and hangs

Thread needs solution

This problem is undoubtedly related to my previous post of ~15 minutes ago.

When I attempt to launch Acronis Home 2009, it now shows "Analyzing partition D:..." on the opening splash screen, but hangs at that point. D: is a legitimate partition of the physical drive that also contains the C: (boot) logical drive, and I'm able to read/write to both partitions with no problem.

How can I launch Acronis?

Hello Coffent,

Let me assist you.

First of all, I may suggest you to check your drive for errors:

- Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)
- Enter the command: "chkdsk DISK: /r"
where DISK is the partition letter you need to check. Please note, that checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.

If your drives has no errors, I recommend you to update Acronis SnapAPI drivers:

  •  Download SnapAPI update;
  •  Unpack the archive and run the SnapAPISetup.msi file;
  •  Go through the wizard screens and hit Proceed to install the update.

(!) You will need to reboot the machine to finish the installation.

Please reply to this thread if you have any additional questions.

Thank you.

What is the SNAPI update ?
