Acronis Startup Recovery Manager problem
I have an IBM laptop and the internal CD/DVD drive no longer functions. I had to use a USB CD/DVD drive so I could boot up Acronis. Acronis was read successfully and I booted into the tools. I made a copy of the partition so I could reload it later if needed and wanted to activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager. When I clicked on this to activate it, it immediately stated it could not find the files needed to activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager on the media and that I should try activating it in windows. I tried reboot and starting over again with booting into Acronis and got the same issue. I burned a new copy and still got the same error. I decided that there was a problem between the reading the USB drive after loading Acronis. So I booted up windows and installed Acronis. To my surprise I successfully was able to activate the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager. However when I uninstall Acronis from the computer the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager gets deleted as well. However before when I activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager when I boot into Acronis, the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager stays.
So my question is how can I leave Acronis Startup Recover Manager activate without having Acronis installed on that computer like I can with my other computers?
