Acronis Tib format changes over versions
Hallo
we are using ATI since years acronis ATI as the backup utility for our customer machine programs.
This means that the backups are in several format, from TI9 up to TI2010.
I could accept, that every year a new version must be bring up, because the hardware drivers are changing.
My problem is, that I sometimes have to mount an old image to access some files from the backup. And I get the information, that the file could not be mounted or windows stops mounting with some severe errors. There are several links in the forum with similar informations.
I don't know why a new acronis version is unable to read older file formats (OK our machines run for 30 years plus, software only for a couple of hours (: ), but what I need is utilty, which show me which version of the acronis TI was used.
Has anyone a idea if this utility exist?

I remember on switching from 9.0 Home to 2009 Home Acronis informed me, the new version (2009) can NOT service tib files created with 9.0 one.
I guess, that is still valid.
1. Or not?
2. How does the table from referenced KB article look if to take 2009 Home for Restore, Mount, Explore?
3. If I should now or in the future to decide again to upgrade from 2009 Home to any later version will I have again the problems with lack of back-compatibility?
