Acronis *.tib Image files - Excluded from Cryptolocker Ransomware?

Thread needs solution

Hi all

I'm using Acronis 2011 for full-HDD Imaging on Windows 7 x64 PC's. I recently read a post elsewhere that published all known file extensions that "Cryptolocker" malicious ransom infection targets. I saw the *.tib extension included in the list but I can't relocate that site link where I saw the file extension listings.

Does anyone here know if the more recent variants of "Cryptolocker" are including some of the more well-known Image file extensions?

A friend of mine was infected by ransom ware and his backup drive was connected at the time. He lost everything. I'm worried about protecting my other drives. Is Acronis planning to add some sort of a feature to password protect drives in a way that only the backup software could access a drive an not any other program or person without a password?

I have been using Acronis since 2010 to backup my SSD Raid0 hard drives, and I have a data HD with all my photos, also backed up to another drive.

Greetings,
The short answer is, all important data should be backed up to 2 or more locations. If one is off site, even better. Virus, hardware failure, etc should not be a cause for permanent loss of data. These occurrences should be nothing more than a inconvenience.
