Acronis TIH 2011 queues backups but they wont start

Thread needs solution

Win 7 pro fully updated, Acronis TIH 2011 6597.

If you ignore the slow GUI it has been working well so far (about 6 weeks). Today I noticed the scheduled backups did not happen. No logs or any messages that I could find. I tried to do the backups manually but they just queued and would not start. No logs or messages. Power cycled the machine etc. Help please.

I did save a System State report but there is a lot in that and I dont know where to start.

Check the following:
- is the Acronis Scheduler service running (run services.msc)?
- donwload the schedule manager (Acronis Shedmgr.exe), install, run it from an elevated prompt. Type "get list". Review the list. Each list has a task ID. Match this ID with the scripts in c:\programdata\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts. Delete any task that doesn't match. To do so, type "task 1-x", "task delete". Find the task(s) that don't run but for which the script is OK. Delete them.
- back to ATI, reschedule the tasks that you deleted.
- verify the tasks are now running.

I did check the Scheduler service and it was running. I forgot to mention it earlier. I had to leave it earlier. I came back to it just now and it all works. I assume, as Pat is suggesting, that Acronis thought it had a task running even though it did not show any. It would have been good to find the problem.
