Acronis TIH 2014 Premium not recognized as Premium

Thread needs solution

I plan to migrate to a different mainboard and have therefore upgraded to TIH 2014 Premium. But the new rescue medium is identical to the old one, no option given for "universal restore".
How can I make (100%) sure that the image of my system disk will work in the new hardware environment, before I exchange the mainboard?
System: Windows XP Pro 32bit, up to date

I believe the ability of the premium is controlled by the serial number--not the file.
Have you input the premium serial into the installed version? The help/about option should list the installation as the premium version.
Then create a new Recovery CD.

AFter you have registered the premium serial with Acronis, you webaccount should also provide access the the premium downloadable ISO file from which you can also create a new Recovery CD.

The availabiity of the universal restore is only available from the CD when selecting what is to be restored.

Thx to the Forum Hero!
Yes, Help -->About shows the Premium version including the new serial number, and I have downloaded the ISO-Image of the bootable medium (437 MB). The recovery manager herein is again the same as in my older rescue media.

So the whole thing boils down to a matter of belief: I'm goin' to make a full backup image of my system disk C:, then convert the hardware and pray that the universal restore option will show up somehow somewhere, and the new system will work. If not, I'm in trouble and have to revert to square 1 and redo the work from the beginning.

I believe in heroes! Fingers crossed and get started! In a few days I will report the result here.

Thanks
Peter

Peter,
The type backup I would suggest is to click on signature link 2 below and look at the very first picture.
Use the option "select disk mode" and the resulting backup will be everything on your system.

boot from your new rescue CD and simulate a restore. Before you get to the select target, you will encouter a screen which reads to select disk and partitions or to select files. Also on that page is the restore to different hardware option. If you have that option, you are all set and don't forget to cancel the simulated restore.

Thx again!

I just did what you recommended, and - hooray - I found the screen as above (or the corresponding thing in German) and now I'm sure it will work. Consider the case resolved.

Thank you again for your nightly help - or are we in different time zones?

Peter
