Acronis True Imafe Home 11 - Gmail prob etc
Firstly I have to say that I think the Acronis Website and Support system to be the most confusing and time-consuming affair I have ever seen! What a nightmare!
I have a numbber of issues with this software, but will keep this post simple!
How can I set this up for Gmail notification please. I have tried the stuff on the support website and other forums but none of it works (Used to be perfect on ver 10 - no problem at all)
There does not appear top be an option for encryption so how can I continue?
This version is extremely frustrating and I wish I had never upgraded
Regards
Adrian

My 2011 crashes as well using Gmail - using GMX email it works fine. Seems to have a little bug in 2011 with regards to GMail lurking around inside it.
Workaround by using another account and having from that account forward the notification to your GMail account.

Other users have reported that if you use TLS and port 587 in Acronis 11 it will crash. Try Gmail again using SSL and port 465.
With this setting everything should work fine.

Okay Pat thank you will give it a try. Actually when you select TLS it does on mine default to 465 but I have been changing it to 587. I've been using Acronis for a few years now but sorry to say this 2011 version does seem to be less friendly and more troublesome.

Yes, 2011 has a few quirks, but the core functionality of imaging and restoring is solid. The quirks can be worked around once you know them.

I can confirm I am also getting a crash each time I set Acronis up to send a notification email on gmail using port 587.
When is this going to be fixed??! Considering this seems like an understood quirk to fix that has very serious crash consequences I do not understand why this is still not fixed since first reported in Nov 2010.

Nathan,
This is known bug with ATI 2011. You have to use the gmail pop3 smtp SSL settings on port 465.
