Acronis True Image 11 backup of Outlook Contacts?

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I'm using Acronis True Image 11 Home (11.0 Build 8,101), Outlook 2003 and Windows XP Pro. I'm trying to use the Outlook backup feature. I tried testing it first to be sure it worked:
- With Outlook closed, I did a backup using the "My Email" option and selected to back up "Microsoft Office Outlook" and all subfolders. I did not change any of the default parameters. The backup completed successfully.
- I then opened Outlook, permanently deleted a few emails and a few contacts (that I didn't mind deleting). I then closed Outlook.
- I then restored the backup.tib; it completed successfully. I opened Outlook again: my deleted emails were successfully restored, however, my deleted contacts were NOT restored.

Any suggestions? The documentation clearly states that Acronis TI 11 Home should backup and restore contacts. I'm wondering the same about Calendar data as that is another feature of Outlook I use regularly. The documentation says that it does.

For years, I've manually backed up Outlook's .PST files. This has always been successful at restoring email as well as contacts and calendar data by importing the .PST.

Should I assume that using True Image 11 Home is not a reliable way to backup email, contacts and Calendar and go back to my old manual way of doing it, or is there something else I should try to get it to work properly?

Thanks in advance,

Rob

Hi,
I have a similar problem: backing up Outlook works fine, but when I then manually delete my outlook.pst file and restore my just made Outlook image, there isn't a restored .pst file!
So backing up all the messages does not work.
Restoring other Outlook settings works OK.
How is this possible?
