acronis true image 11 home

Thread needs solution

is there any way to use acronis true image 11 home to retrieve or reset my pc login password. operating system is xp professional. i tried other methods to no avail, just wondering.

I am guessing but my guess is yes. Restoring Drive C should put your disk back to what it was at time of backup and whatever login password was in use at time of backup.

Just to embellish a bit on Grover's reply,

If you are talking about the password that allows the motherboard to boot (run through POST) and is set in the bios, you can reset this usually but cutting all AC and internal battery power--contact your motherboard maker for info on your particular product.

If you means the windows password that allows win to boot up, no you cannot change that except by using windows, which requires giving the existing password.

Now, if you made a disk backup before a win password was set or changed, and then you created or changed the win password, then you can, in effect, revert by restoring the old image back to the hard disk.

Please note that ATI 11 does not work at all on modern versions of windows. It works on XP but I don't think it works on anything later (vista w7, w8, w8.1)
