Acronis True Image 13

Thread needs solution

I downloaded and installed Acronis TI 2017.  As I was not happy with it I un-installed TI 2017 and re-installed TI 13.  On start up of TI 13 the following error message appeared.

Failed to check Snapman driver. Please reinstall True Image

The following error code was displayed:0x0064000B+0x00AC003B+0x00BE0082

There is no information in the KB

I have reloaded TI 13 as instructed with the same result.

Can anyone help please?

Hi everyone,

Reference the above, I have resolved the problem as follows:

             1. Uninstalled both ATI 13 and DD 11.

             2. Used Regseeker to remove all registry entries refencing Acronis.

             3. Rebooted.

             4. Reinstalled ATI 13 and DD 11.  Both working fine.

Roy, thank you for providing feedback on how you resolved the problem you reported.  Please note that you can also use the Acronis Cleanup Tool (link in my signature below) which would remove all traces of Acronis TI and DD programs to allow a clean reinstall.

Thanks Steve,

I will take note of the Clean Up but hope I do not have to use it in future.

Roy

Steve,

I've just read the KB referenced in your signature. According to the KB the Clean UP tool does not work with ATI 13 which was causing the problem.

Roy

Roy, unfortunately the KB document is a little misleading in that it only lists recent versions of ATIH in the initial information, but if you page down to where it shows you a screen shot image of the first screen for the Clean Up Utility 2.0 it shows a full list of products that are cleaned, from ATIH 2010 upwards.

Thanks Steve.  In my opinion many technical writers, especially programmers themselves, when writting technical papers often forget that those seeking technical information/help need simple and accurate papers.  When reviewing a technical paper before publication they should ask themselves the question "if I was a technical neophyte would what has been written be understood by the layman?"

This is not meant as a criticsm of of technical writers as, in general, they do an excellent job.  Just sometimes they get lost in the clouds.

Thanks,

Roy
