Acronis True Image 2009 Home freezing during backup
Hi there,
I have been having a serious problem with Acronis True Image 2009 Home recently. Backups are not completing and my computer is essentially freezing about 1 hour into the backup. System and Software details below:
Software Version:
True Image 2009 Home 12.0.0.9796
NB. was having same problem with previous build.
Source Computer:
Dell Precision M6400 workstation laptop
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Extreme CPU X7900 @ 2.80GHz, 2800 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)
4GB RAM
Windows Vista Ultimate (32-bit) SP2
Destination Volume:
Freecom 500GB Network Drive (note: connecting by USB2 not via networking).
I would be grateful if anyone could shed some light on this problem. I was having no problems with my backups until recently.
Best regards,
David.

Hello DMacHugh and bin,
Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.
DMacHugh, could you please clarify, what is the source for your backup?
If it is disk\partition backup, could you please check the disks for errors?
- Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)
- Enter the command: "chkdsk DISK: /r"
where DISK is the partition letter you need to check. Please note, that
checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.
Also, please collect the log of the operation
- Start Acronis True Image Home;
- Select Tools -> Show log;
- Choose the log entry which contains errors;
- Click on the diskette icon, choose the location (folder) and save there;
- attach the log to this thread
We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.
Thank you.
