Thomas. You may have bad sectors on the drive you are trying to backup. Did you run chkdsk X: /f? wher X is your drive letter. You can also download the manufacturers diagnostic tools for your drive and run them.

Thanks for your answer. I'm going to try it on the backup drive. I only checked the drive that I want to backup. The diagnostic will take some time.

Unfortuntaly the error like "Error by reading the drive. Error of reading in  of sector xxx On disk 1 is not possible, try chkdsk".
When I choose "ignore" the error will occure twice. I choose "ignore" again an the backup will finish, but I suppose the bachup willb not ok.
And if would ty to restore I will get problems. So, what can I do. Has someone any idea ?

Is this error from running chkdsk or is this an error that results from running the manufactrurers diagnostics? The manufacturer's diagnostics are more thorough than chkdsk.

No this error happened during the backup-process. Backuping stopped with error like this "Error by reading the drive. Error of reading in  of sector xxx On disk 1 is not possible, try chkdsk". When this message popped up, I could choose between "ignore", "repeat" or "cancel". But I did chkdsk (check disk and repair on the disks) without errors and If I try backup-process again, the error written above happened again.

That is why I suggested running the manufacturers diagnostic tools on your drives. They are more thorough then chkdsk. You may also want to create a newbackup task pointing to a new location.

I used the windwos 7 "bereinigen"  for the drive. That is a windows 7 service-task with chkdsk, clean and repair the drive and this had no errors in result. Afterward I tried to backed up with Acronis but the error described above happened.

Thomas, is this error in reading a sector being given for your source drive or the drive you are storing the backup on?

I assume from what I have read that it is the source drive, the next question is: are you doing a sector by sector backup, i.e. backing up even unused sectors?  If so, then it is possible that chkdsk would not find the sector in error.

I would recommend that you use a different utility to check the problem disk; one that I use comes with the free Hiren's boot CD which provides a selection of DOS tools including HDAT2 which can be used to read & repair bad sectors and which examines the whole drive regardless of partitions, OS etc.  I have attached a PDF document showing how HDAT2 is used.
