Acronis True Image 2015 and Intel RST issues

Thread needs solution

Hello,

Does anyone have seen Acronis ever working with Intel RST RAID volumes?

Intel RST is perfectly supported by Windows and Linux, and working very well for dual-boot configurations, but Acronis (Build #6613) doesn't see any data in the RAID volumes.

Have booted with "Acronis Bootable Media" (ISO downloaded from official site and burned to DVD). It can see RAID volumes, but no any partitions are shown - volumes are marked as "unsupported".

Is there any specific options required for Acronis to see GPT partitions on Intel RST volumes?

System configuration: Gigabyte GA-X99M rev.1 motherboard, 2xSSD in RAID0 and 2xHDD in RAID0 (Raid0's are configured through Intel RST UEFI BIOS add-on)

I'm in doubt to upgrade to 2016 version, if Acronis just don't support Intel RST correctly.
All dual-boot systems, I've made (for parents, wife, kids) now using Intel RST by default. And looks like it is waste of money to buy Acronis as backup solution - if it does not support such configuration...

Intel RST is mature for more than 5 years, supported by huge amount of motherboards, and it's quite surprising to see such issues with most popular backup software...
Linux have mature support of Intel RST (and other software raids with DDF metadata) since 2011.
Considering that Acronis bootable media is based on Linux, strange to see lack of support.

Alex

You'll need to make a WinPE recovery media with the Windows Intel RST drivers added.

WindowsPE recovery media does not support backup to EXT4 or JFS partitions, unlike normal ISO boot media (My backup disks have only Linux file systems).
Also, it will not be able to normally backup Linux partitions.

What is a problem to add mdraid to Linux image on "standard" Acronis boot media? Any LiveCD have it.

Alex

As a Linux user maybe you can figure out how to add drivers to the Acronis Linux recovery media. As far as I can remember, nobody has posted any information on how it can be done.
