Acronis True Image 2015 not booting Acronis after restart for restore operation

Thread needs solution

I succesfully select my backup to restore and then it prompts me to restart the machine. When I choose to restart, the machine just boots back to windows 8.1.

I can boot from the 2015 recovery media and restore the backup that way, but it is annoying, since the build in trackpad does not work properly using the Acronis 2014 bootable media. It is extermely difficult to navigate

It is a UEFI BIOS and Safe boot is already disabled.

Computer: Sony Pro Vaio 13

I have the same issue. I am trying to restore a backup of the hard drive from a dead laptop. It took a while to actually backup the hard drive and now recovery appears to work until it get to the needs to reboot part. Same results as you. And it very time consuming to try and read through the hundreds, if not thousands of posts to try and find an answer.

When restoring a backup to a new disk of the same syistem, the best success is obtained when booted from the TI Recovery CD.

Some users find it helpful to have an extra usb wired mouse for those system where drivers are a problem for the CD.

Signature Link 3, item 2 inside that link can help.

That is not a solution, but a workaround. Also if it is a new disk, you have to use the recovery media anyway, since a new disk does not have any OS on it. I think you missed the point, the idea is to have the software function as it was designed for and not to simply state recovering from bootable media is the answer.

Have Acronis 2013 and MSI GT70 laptop and have the same problem. Have a second hd mounted in the laptop with the back up. Acronis will not activate after startup. Have to use the recovery disk.
