Acronis True Image 2018 in a Nasty Backup loop

Thread needs solution

When I run Acronis True Image 2018 backup on my system I get the BSOD. When the system restarts Acronis restarts the backup to finish where it left off, which just causes another BSOD again and again. My only solution is to reinstall the operating system.

How can you turn of this behavior so that if the backup does not complete it will NOT try again after a restart?

Frustrating!

Lawrence, for your scenario I would suggest restarting the system in Windows Safe Mode to prevent extra services etc from being restarted automatically.

You can run the msconfig.exe tool if you are in Windows to control the type of startup or else you will need to go into the start options shown by Windows when starting.

I have not heard of any other users reporting getting a BSOD for just running an Acronis backup, so cannot guess at what might be causing this behaviour?

I would suggest doing a Repair Install of ATI 2018 in case there has been any corruption of any of the programs, DLL's etc that it uses for performing backups.
