Acronis True Image 7.0 Personal and SATA harddisk

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I use successfully Acronis True Image 7.0 Personal on my PCs. Now I got a problem with a new Desktop PC with a SATA harddisk running Vista.

The TrueImage Boot-CD doesn't boot, instead I get an error message "No Emulation / System Type - 00 / Acronis Loader: keine Konfigurationsdatei".

Is version 7 incompatible with SATA drives?

An installation on that computer ended without failure, but starting the program shows a message like "not compatible with Vista".

Is this also an error from the SATA harddisk?

Yours

Manfred:

Version 7 is relatively old and it probably does not have the correct drivers for new hardware on the boot CD. Version 10 was the first version that is Vista-compatible, although you can use older versions with Vista provided that you don't attempt to install the program but rather just run it from the boot CD. But the boot CD, which is Linux-based, must contain drivers for your hardware, and version 7 is likely to be several years behind the state of the art in driver support.
