Acronis True Image Echo Server always splits backups into 2GB parts

Thread needs solution

Hi, we are using the newest build (8319) of Acronis True Image Echo Server for Windows.

When backing up a server manually or with a planned task, the backups are always splitted into 2GB parts.
This happens when in the backup options the option for splitting is set to "Automatic" as well as when it is set to for example 9GB. (The backup has a size of ~5GB)

The servers are backed up to another server (Windows Server 2003) via FTP to a NTFS-formatted RAID-drive.

On the servers to backup, Windows 2000 Server is running.
Has anyone a idea how to tell acronis not to split the tib-files?

Thanks, Johannes

Hello JohannesH,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to give you a clear explanation.

Backup split is not an issue, when backing up via FTP Acronis True Echo Server for Windows automatically splits backup archives to 2 GB volumes. In order to overcome it I may recommend you create a shared location on the destination place/computer.

The latest build of Acronis True Image Echo Server for Windows is 8353. You may download it from your account under registered Products.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.
