Acronis True Image hangs. I cannot get a backup
I am having trouble with Acronis True Image hanging, and cannot do any backups. Once I start a new backup I see “backing up” at the top of the page but queued at the bottom of the page. No movement after hours or even after leaving it overnight from this point.
I tried deleting old backups but that didn’t help. I thought perhaps it is my ext HDD is faulty so I tried with a new HDD – no change
To do a backup, I opened Acronis clicked on Back up in the left hand bar than add backup then create new back up. I chose the backup entire PC then chose the destination HDD then backup now.
Why is it hanging???
I clicked on account and it says "Acronis True Image 2015 is up to date"
Take a look at the attached screen grab. Any help will be appreciated - thanks.

Hi Danny, screen grab is missing. Hopefully the logs show some info... if not, I suspect it may be Windows VSS that is the issue. Many times, when the backup is stuck calculating or queued if no other tasks are in progress, disabling VSS temporarily will allow the backup to run using the Acronis proprietary snapapi backup method instead of the default Windows VSS method. If you want to test, you can disable VSS temporarily one of 3 ways as mentioned here:

Hopefully the attachment is here this time.
I suspect we are getting into heavy techy stuff here. You are giving very brief answers i.e. just see this link - which is in fact someone elses question. Then a page I have no idea how to locate. I am clearly doing something wrong here or many things wrong.

Danny, all you need to do is as follows:
1. Go to 1859: Acronis Scheduler Manager web page and download the Scheduler Manager program from there. Save the file to your Windows Desktop.
2. Right-click on the desktop icon for schedmgr.exe and take the option to Run as Administrator - see screen shot below.
3. The Acronis Scheduler Manager will now open its own Command Windows as shown in the next screen shot.
4. Type the command Get list in the command window then press Enter. The command window will then show a list of all scheduled task entries. See next screen shot.
5. If needed, you can now type task zap to clear all scheduled tasks to allow your backup to run.

Perfect - thank you.
I need to remove the auto scheduling also. Manual back ups are fine for me.
How do I remove auto backup feature?

Danny, you would need to update the Schedule for any of your tasks and set this to Not Scheduled if you don't want these to run automatically.

I am having trouble with Acronis True Image 2015 hanging, and cannot do any backups. Once I start a new backup I see queued at the bottom of the page. and there it stays.
It appears there was a job scheduled, so I used Acronis Shedule Mgr/Get List and this was fine but when I did "task zap" nothing happened. I thought of deleting that job but dont want to risk loosing a backup.
Any assitance would be appreciated.
Incidentally I paid my latest subscription and entered the serial number. It still shows as Acronis True Image 2015. Shouldnt that now say 2016?

Danny, you should be able to delete just the backup task settings without deleting your backup .TIB files.
In ATIH 2015, click on the (V) next to your task name, take the option for Delete, then you will see a further pop-up box asking if you want to Delete everything (settings and files) or just delete the settings.
Once you have deleted the backup settings, repeat the task zap to clear any scheduled entries then try running your new backup again.
On the subscription question, I would suspect that you have just renewed a Cloud subscription for your ATIH 2015 product but you would need to contact Acronis Support to confirm this or whether you have got a license for ATIH 2016.
Alternatively, sign in to your Acronis Account online and check what Products show there - if you have ATIH 2016 it will show the download options for this.

That sorted it. I also downloaded Acronis True Image 2016 and plugged in my serial no. and that did it.
Thanks for your help
