Acronis True Image HD 2014 MBR Error 3

Thread needs solution

In the process of trying to clone a Toshiba Tecra R950 320GB HDD (not even 50% full) to a Crucial 256GB SSD. I get an MBR Error 3 when restarting during the cloning process. I am selecting Clone Disk, Manual, and then Proportional. Once Acronis prompts for reboot, and as laptop comes back up, I get said error. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!

Dimitri,
You do not tell us much about your system or the procecedures you used.
Also, Which version of Windows? Is the Tecra a MBR or GPT partitioned system disk?

My suggestions
1. Do an error check on the Tecra disk. (all partitions).

Clone procedure

1.Remove the 320 from the computer and install the SSD into the computer on same connectors.

2. Install the 320 into an external device or connection.

3. Boot into the user created 2014 TI Bootable Recovery CD and perform the clone when booted from the CD.

4. After cloning completion. Shutdown.

Most of the volunteer responders prefer the disk image backup and then a disk image rest ore in place of the clone process.
Using the backup and restore removes the source disk from risk of user or other cloning error.

5. Reboot with only the SSD connected. Make sure Bios selects the SSD as the boot device. A boot sometime occurs with no device selected so make sure the SSD is selected.

6. If boot into Windows fails, then use your user created Windows System Repair CD and perform a "System startup repair"
via the Windows repair CD.
