Hello Elias,
Let me help you.
The reason of the issue you have is that Acronis True Image Home has found a disk error that prevents operation's execution.
Please check the disk and file system for errors:
- Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd);
- Enter the command:
chkdsk X: /r
where X is the drive letter of the partition you need to check. Please note that checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.
If the issue still persists, please collect AcronisInfo output and submit a request to support.
Please reply to this thread if you have any additional questions.
Thank you.

Hello Ilya,
thanks for your suggestion ... not sure if that is the problem....it might be....too late as I already spent countless hours figuring out a solution
what I found out was that the backup will work if you do a "SECTOR BY SECTOR" back up...I suppose there is some "non moveable" sector that Windows 7 insists on....and the normal backup may have failed since I was moving my old disk to a new SMALLER SSD disk hence if the new disk were larger than the old disk this may have not been a problem...anyway the whole reason I bought ACRONIS was to save my self all this hassle...dont have the time to experiment
