Acronis True Image Home 2010 won't boot on Lenovo Z61M

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I've downloaded the Acronis True Image Home 2010 build 7046 boot media from the customer area and burned it on a CD. I have a Lenovo Z61M notebook which I want to backup after the initial Win7 setup, thus I'm trying to boot from the Acronis boot media.

I do get the following screen:

Starting acronis loader ...
Starting acronis rescue enironment ...

After a while, I end up with a blank screen with a blinking cursor in the left upper corner.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Thomas

Strange I have an x61 which boots OK from the CD.

Your problem seems to be down to drivers.

I take it you've downloaded the ISO version?

This is different to the one that TI itself can make. My comment above referred to the built in version.

I suggest, download the SAFE version which is under the Free Plugins tab, install it and then create the rescue CD using the Windows based True Image media builder making sure you include both the normal and the safe version.

Then try booting from this CD.

Hi!

thanks for your suggestion. This doesn't work either. Either it hangs at

"Starting acronis loader ..." now or I get:

Loading, please wait...
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(1,0)

when I get beyond the loader thingy when it tries to start Acronis True Image.

Any further ideas?

Thanks,
Thomas

Hi again,

FYI: stumbling over another similar thread, disabling USB boot support in the BIOS helped. Now Acronis boots from the CD and I can create a backup.

Thanks,
Thomas
