Acronis True Image Home 2011 Can't Detect SSD

Thread needs solution

Greetings Everyone!

I have a Dell Inspiron 7359 2 in 1.  I want to acronis the SSD before actually turning on the laptop and going through the process of setting up the laptop.

My version of Acronis does not recognize or "see" the SSD.

Am I doing something wrong?

Than you for your responses,

Hermann

Hello Hermann, I would suspect that your ATIH 2011 rescue media is Linux based, which is the standard media, so you would need to have also got the ATIH 2011 Plus Pack to allow you create WindowsPE rescue media that should be able to see your SSD, though this will depend on whether support for the SSD is included in the Windows Automated Installation Kit version that you would also need to install on the computer creating the WinPE media.

If you don't have the Plus Pack and are trying to image the SSD in a new computer system in its initial build state, then my suggestion would be to download / install a copy of Macrium Reflect Free and create the WinPE rescue media that product provides as this will allow you to create a backup image, whereas if you tried the ATIH 2016 Trial media, this does not permit you to create backup images with the bootable rescue media, nor create WinPE rescue media.
