Acronis True Image Home 2011 crashes on Windows 7 x64 (Unhandled exception at 0x0530ad45 in TrueImage.exe: 0xC0000005)
I'm using Acronis True Image Home 2011 on Windows 7 x64, and the application appears to crash regularly when attempting to access various settings or dialog boxes. One area where I have consistently managed to reproduce this is when trying to open a file from the Acronis Recovery tab.
Here are the steps I am taking:
1. Right click on file
2. Select Acronis Recovery
3. Click on item in list
4. Click Open (or Recover)
This is immediately followed by "Acronis True Image Home 2011 has stopped working" with buttons to close the program and debug it. Clicking on "Debug the program" launches VS2008, with the following:
Unhandled exception at 0x0530ad45 in TrueImage.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000000.
In the Windows event log, I have the following:

There's another report of this type of issue here, where the user found that switching off the Dell Dock solved the problem. However, this is not a Dell machine and not using the Dell Dock software, so that can't be causing the issue in my case.
Any ideas on what is causing this and how it can be resolved?
Thanks
Mun

From within the main screen, I can click on the backup name, and then access files and folders from the "Files and folders" tab. However, repairing the installation made no difference. Also tried removing it using the Acronis removal tool, and re-installing afresh, and that hasn't made any difference either. Trying to open or recover a file from within the file properties window still causes the error specified above.
I've already contacted Acronis support - several days ago, but haven't heard anything back. The frequency of these errors make the application seem buggy though, and don't inspire any confidence in the product. I'd be reluctant to depend on this to restore my data in the event of a disk failure if these issues can't be resolved.

Eventually decided to give up with this and go back to using Macrium Reflect. It hasn't got the same fancy UI, but is significantly more stable, and that's what counts. Acronis' customer service leaves much to be desired, and they haven't responded to my initial support request for help with this issue, or my second request for a full refund for both True Image Home 2011 and the Plus Pack. If there's no response within the next week, I'll have to pursue this with my credit card company. Very disappointed in the product and the general experience of dealing with this company.

Just have the same problems, after a few selection when I set up a task I always get dimmed windows (ATI's) and it crashes.
Tried several times to recover/reinstall and now last run our clean up utility. Nothing helps.
What to do?
Got the ATIH2011_6696 build and W 7-64 Enterprise.

Just bought Acronis True Image Home 2011 Plus Pack 6696 to backup because I have converted one disk to dynamic disk. Backing up the partition was fine. However as all of you have experienced, when Explore and recover is selected for that backup, the program crashes as all of you have described and this can be repeated all the time with my Win7 Prof-64bit. I have tried repairing all the installation and even installing SnapAPI503 but to no avail. Help!
