RNCBRN,

Backup disks and partitions is not a type of backup but is the entry way into where you can create a backup of your system or of a single partition or of all your partitions.

If most situations, a backup of your system is a backup of everything on your system disk. All partitions are part of your "system" so all partitions should be included within the backup. The most positive way to make sure all partitions are included is to check mark the disk as the option to be included in the backup.

Some people may disagree with my description of what a backup of your system includes but with the introduction of the boot partition on Vista and then on most Windows 7 system, a backup of your system must include this boot partition and it would seem that any recovery partition placed there by the vendor should also be part of the system. Thus, a backup of your system must include all partitions on that specific system disk.

At least this is how I would interpret a backup of your system as to its meaning/

I am sorry, but there is a great deal of confusion or am i that I can’t understand. At this point i would like to know if i want to restore (for various reasons) my computer, through system backup, what's the matter? In the case i wish to restore (for various reasons) my computer, through backup disks and partitions, what happens. In both cases is restored everything all (files, programs, files hidden, boot etc. . )? Or is there a substantial difference; in this case i would like to see you you give me information about this. Thank you and greet you.

Are you talking about "backup my critical data"?

I am referring to all the resources of the disc (C).

I will say this: If i am mistaken gate a program, hack the system files and other files etc. by restoring a previous backup returns everything as before or not? This is true with the restoration of any backup as i wrote in my earlier comment?

Hello and thanks

To return your system to where it was, even if you start with a brand new blank disk, what you need is:
- a disk and partition backup of *all* the partitions currently on your system disk (ATI will show you all the partitions, you can also check by using Windows' disk management console). No need to turn on the sector by sector option for that backup,
- a recovery medium (CD or USB) you will boot on when you need to restore your system. ATI helps you create one. Once you have created it, try it out, and restore a couple of file from your backup.
