Acronis True Image Home 2011 will not install...
...on Win7 x64 Ultimate.
Having gone through the forums/FAQs/Help using the solutions to this problem for 2010, I ended up in a 1.5 hour remote support session with Acronis, to no result.
It has been escalated but I'm quite eager to resolve this as quickly as possible (SSD firmware update) so figured I'd throw it open to the forum.
Any ideas?

Pete,
Did you install 2011 overtop of 2010 or did you uninstall 2010 before installing 2011.
There were several postings on 2010 about the need to disable any AV or malware detection programs before installing also, it is helpful for many to uninstall old version first despite what Acronis says that it not necessary.

Oops. Just replied on the wrong thread. =/
Not got any other Acronis software, let alone installed.
Didn't realise 2011 only came out, today. Heh.
Tried running as admin. Tried extracting the .msi. Tried running in nearly all the compatibility modes.
Ah. No A/V installed, atm, either.
Edited to add: Disabled default windows defender to no result.
Tried to install to locations other than default and to a separate volume. No result.

What is the error message. What brand/type of equipment? Laptop/desktop?

"The installation was interrupted before Acronis True Image Home 2011 could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again."
No brand/home build desktop, not overclocked.
Asus P6X58D Premium (0813 BIOS)
i7-960
GTX480
6GB DDR3 1600
2x SSD RAID 0 (tried installing to the RAID and my SATA3 storage drive)
No sound atm.
Its a fresh, clean install, now. Still Win7 x64 Ultimate.
It has left a non-functional service "Acronis Scheduler2 Service" in my services list...can't edit, start, restart or remove it.
Deleted every reference to Acronis in my registry and that hasn't helped, either.

Hmm, I would try re-downloading as your present file could be corrupt.

Downloaded 3 times, now.
Instructions for checking MD5 hash don't seem to have been updated for TIH 2011, as yet.
The download filename has changed since my initial download but the hash/file size are still the same.
Currently downloading the trial (2.6MB smaller) to see if that makes any difference.

Installing the trial, with my retail serial, has worked.

I believe support (when they arrive) will provide some specific places in the registry that needs to be adjusted or removed. In prior situations where install was an issue, this has been their approach. But who knows.......

First thing you need to check is your temporary folder. the TI installer does not like it if there is much left over gunk.
So for W7 you need to enable view system files and folders and then navigate to:
C:\Users\your_user_name\local_settings\temp and delete the contents of the folder - W7 might refuse some as they will be in use.
Then try re-installing
