Acronis True Image Home 2011 won't start

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I have Win 7 pro 32 bit not SP1. When double clicking on the icon on the desktop, the Acronis program appears in the task bar, but I can't expand it or run it. We run Backup Now to backup up to a flash drive using a different one for each day of the business week. This has worked fine for several months and started doing this last week. I have not tried to reinstall it. Any help is appreciated.

Since it was working for while, it's quite possibly a corrupted registry entry or program files. If you run the install program, it should give you an option to do a repair. I'd try that first.

Should I use the software on the CD or download updated version from the web? Originally I downladed the current version. Will the repair keep my backup job or will need to recreate them? Has anything been done to address this problem. Is this a big problem. I feel software shouldn't corrupt so easily.

Download the updated version from the web and install it. This will keep your current job.
The more reliable option from the installation perspective, is to export your backup settings, uninstall the current version, reboot, install the new version and import your backup settings.
