Acronis True Image Home 2013 - CHKDSK discovered free space marked as allocated in the MFT
I've been using ATIH 2011 for several years without any problems. Nearly always I use the Boot Disk to create the backup image and occasionally run chkdsk to make sure all is well on my external hard drives. I just tried using the ATIH 2013 boot disk and every time I run check disk it returns the message: "CHKDSK discovered free space marked as allocated in the master file table (MFT) bitmap. Windows made corrections, etc..."
I've tried running ATIH 2013 boot disk on several different ext drives and brands, and on two very different computers, same result no matter what. ATIH doesn't cause this problem when creating the image from Windows 7, but I really prefer to use the boot disk as I find it simpler. Since ATIH 2011 worked fine in these setups and 2013 doesn't, I have to believe it's a bug in the boot disk software (Also does the same with the generic boot from the web site).
The disk image created from ATIH 2013 seems to work okay, but it bothers me that it creates chkdsk errors any time I use the 2013 boot disk. Does anyone have a fix for this. Is this problem gone in ATIH 2014?
