Acronis True Image Home Universal Recovery

Thread needs solution

I purchased Acronis True Image Home 2010 and bought the plus pack to go along with it. Ive been testing the software trying to learn its features. I am very interested in the Universal restore function.

I built a Windows XP Image onto a Dell Optiplex 745 and backed it up to a USB drive using the Acronis bootable media. I then took a Dell Latitude D630 and booted to the Acronis bootable media and ran a recover. I selected the .TIB file from my USB hard disk and chose universal restore. I had previously downloaded and extracted all the drivers for the D630 onto the same USB hard disk that the 745 backup was created on. I selected the Path for the extracted drivers. At this point I have tried several different configurations trying to get the system to boot. I tried selecting the primary partition and the MBR and track 0, I also tried this config with and with out recovering the disk signature. I tried selecting only the Primary Partition. In all cases the recovery runs with no errors and I reboot the machine. I get the windows loading screen and then I get the old BSOD and a boot loop. When I hit F8 and tell the machine not to reboot on sys fail the error is a no accessible boot device. I talked with a friend of mine and he told me the Dell Storage drivers are like pulling teeth to find the right one. Any suggestions?? Am I missing something else?? Thanks in advance.

Hi Jesse,
The most critical point in the Universal process is finding the right drivers. The rest of the procedure you used seems correct to me.(as long as you extracted the drivers in the requested format).
You should try to recover your Dell Latitude D630 drivers with Double Driver.

This is a software that will extract all the drivers from the target machine ,in the right format, and without any risk of errors,as they are extracted from the target computer.Ignore error messages,if any, as you need just one or even two drivers to successfully reboot the machine.Remember that after a succesfull process ,you will have to install other drivers ,which will be available to you right there.

Once the software installed, just run the backup process and store the generated(single) file on your USB drive for the purpose of Universal Restore process.
