Acronis True Image Home Update - bsod, failed backups
Aconis True Image Home 2011 offered an automatic update which was applied and updated the product to Update 1 Build 2066. Since then there has been randome BSODs and every backup has failed validation. However the backup image can be explored, files copied etc. The system is running XP Pro SP3.
Is there a fix and/or is anyone else having this issue
Thanks

Thanks Colin and sorry - that was a typo - the build is 6696. Note also that I am encountering occasional Windows System Errors that say that Acronis True Image 2011 has encountered an error. I'll try to get a screen shot next time that happens, and any BSOD codes.

Have a look in Windows Event Manager and see if there are any Acronis entries with the red or yellow icon showing. These might contain a pointer to the problem.

Thanks Colin - as (bad) luck would have it, the Application Event list is corrupt. I've cleared it and I'll wait until the next BSOD or System Error being caused by TIH and report back.
Thanks

Keith,
Other users have reported similar issues that went away after the following uninstall procedure:
- (optional precaution) Copy (not move) all the TIB files you want to keep to another directory for safekeeping. Hide the directory (not the subfolders)
- export your backup settings
- (optional precaution continued) Delete (not remove) your backups from ATI interface. Delete manually unvanted TIB files
- uninstall ATI
- run the clean up utility
- reboot
- install ATI
- reimport your backups settings.
- verify your BSDO issue went away.
- (optional precaution continued) Your backups will restart from scratch. You can then unhide the folder of copied archives.
The optional precaution provides additional peace of mind that your backups will continue their merry way after the uninstall.

Hello all,
Thank you for posting and your kind assistance.
Keith, I would also like to help you with this issue.
Can you prepare your machine to capture a full Windows dump, this will tell us more about the BSOD. The file created could be rather large, you can zip it to make it smaller and I will also send you a private message with an ftp link which you can use to upload the dump file to.
In addition, could you upload this report please?
If you have additional questions, please let me know.
Thank you.
