Acronis unable to locate Western Digital My Book World Edition ll network hard drives.

Thread needs solution

Dear friends. I am sorry if this issue has been discussed before, but I am unable to locate the answer.
I recently purchased a retail box of Acronis True Image Home 2010 backup software, which I am using to do a Image Backup of my C: drive at 12.00 p.m. on Monday of each week.
I also purchased about the same time a Western Digital My Book World Edition ll network drive, which came bundled with Western Digital's WD Anywhere Backup software. Although the WD backup software seems to do a good job of backing up some of my files and folders, I would like to uninstall the WD backup software, and use the Acronis True Image Home 2010 software for this as well.
Can I do this as well as do my weekly backup?
I should explain my weekly backup is done from an internal hard drive on my computer (Drive C:) to a second hard drive on my computer (Drive D:) also on my computer. Both drives are SATA drives and internal
My other, and perhaps more important question is this. When I try to setup a nonstop backup in Acronis, I am unable to locate the Western Digital My Book World Edition ll hard drive. It does not show up where all the drives are listed in the Acronis program.
Any help in resolving this problem would be very much appreciated.

Dear Fred!

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad you joined us! I completely understand your concern and will be glad to assist you with your questions.

I regret to inform you that currently NonStop Backup supports only internal and USB drives as a storage. So in case you have a network drive, it will not be listed as a storage option in NSB menu. We have requested this feature to be added, but unfortunately cannot tell when and whether it will be implemented.

I would like to assure you that you can certainly use Acronis True Image Home 2010 for backing up folders and files. You can set any desired schedule or run the backup manually. Please find more details regarding Files and Folder backup in the User's Guide, chapter 6.3.4, p. 44.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!

Hi Yana: Many thanks for your response to my question re Western Digital World Edition ll network drives.
I will just have to remain with the Western Digital backup program that came bundled with the network drive, and hope that at sometime in the future Acronis will decide to add this storage as a option. Fred Billcock.

I also have a Western Digital Passbook external HD connected to a USB 3.0 port.
Recently WD updated their software and it seems that now Acronis has a problem with the scheduled back ups (incremental). I am running Acronis True Image 2014.
When I look at the log, it shows me the last 5 weekly back ups have not been successful. This is NOT GOOD.
I am almost ready to un-install the WD software because I believe Acronis was working before the update but still not sure what I should do.
Any HELP ???
Tim

Hi Tim,
Your issue is actually unrelated to this thread (2010, using non-stop back up with network storage devices). I recommend that you start a new thread so your issue gets the attention it deserves. Please include relevant information, system specs, troubleshooting steps and anything else you feel might be helpful.
