Thread needs solution

Acronis is working when I start it and won't stop!

Build 6525 in Windows 7 32-bit SP1.

The software opens, but it immediately confuses me. Backup is selected in the left pane. "My Backups" correctly shows Entire PC (JOHN-TOSH) to E:\, However...
The right half of the screen shows that backup is already running! The 6 blue dots are cycling R to L over the blue arrow in a light blue circle and the button X STOP at bottom right is active. How can this be? Drive E:\ is on my table, not yet plugged in. No other drive E: exists.

I click on STOP and answer Yes to the confirmation, but the display doesn't change. Apparently backup is still running.

BTW, I ran the system report and a tall window popped up at the end describing the report's contents. The bottom of the window had Save and Cancel buttons, but, due to the window's height, they were off screen at the bottom. The programmer forgot to put resize controls on the window. I was able to rotate my screen into portrait mode and reach them that way, but it was sub-optimal.

Several possibilities for the computer being busy
1. Perhaps you created a continuous or online or Cloud Backup task setting?
----------------------------------
2. Or, perhaps you created a normal scheduled backup and that did not run because the computer was turn off, etc.
If this is a possibilty, you need to look at the very bottom of "Advanced Settings" and check the setting for "Missed BAckup" The default setting is enabled (checked) so if you do not want backups to run (if missed) at startup, then uncheck this setting.

GH64. 71342: 2015 How to save a non-scheduled task.

Depending upon the type of backup scheme you wish to create, here is an example of each type. These can be set up for Disk image, or Partiton, or Files-folders backups. These example show how to set up automatic cleanup so the program will do the deletion after it reaches your set goal of how many chains to retain.

Editing an existing task is not recommended. Rarely does an edited task perform to user expectations. It is usually better to start with a new task using a new non-identical task name and point to a new storage sub-folder so each task has it own storage folder/sub-folder. Old task can be stopped or deleted from the task listings.

GH11. Create Custom Full Backup Scheme w/auto cleanup....Store/Keep 4 versions (chains). Use whatever number best fits the individual needs..

GH12. Create Custom Incremental Backup Scheme w/auto cleanup. ...Keep Full plus 6 Inc per chain. Store/Keep 4 chains. Use whatever number best fits your needs.

GH13. Create Custom Differential Backup Scheme w/auto cleanup. ...Keep Full plus 2 Diff per chain. Store/Keep 2 chains. Use whatever number best fits your needs.
