AcronisTI2014 FTP backup
Hi,
I am trying to backup my files and folders to my FTP storage and I get a message that error occured while creating file. I tried File backup with smaller amount of files and still have that problem. I am trying to backup to root on my hosting server.
I can access the directory just fine using FileZilla and create files and directories at will.
I tried my other backup software (Gravity) and it can create the files just fine.
Any ideas?

OK, I played little bit with this one.
I am on Windows 10, 64 bit and I am logging through Outlook account, not local. So I created two local accounts and tried to set up backup using one local account. This is the error I get (first attachment). When I tried to specify the outlook account, I get this error due to timout (second attachment).
Does the creating file error from my first post refer to the creating file locally (which I could see the account being a culprit) or remotely (which I image account should not have any effect.
I am considering upgrading to TI 2016, do you think that it could fic this?
Thanks

I am running Windows 7. I have created a separate local account called 'Admin' that I use to run Acronis 2014. I have created a protected folder on an external hard disk that I use for all Acronis backups. That protected folder can only be accessed when logged into the 'Admin' account.
When I do a backup, I am logged into the 'Admin' account. Even though I am logged into the 'Admin' account, I still have to run the backup as a different Windows user. I type in 'Admin' as the user name and the 'Admin' password....even though I am running the backup while logged into the Admin account.
If I don't run the backup as a different Windows user, I get an error message shown in the attachment. While this is not the same error message you are getting, it is definitely related to file permissions.
I would recommend that you try a backup logged into your local account but run as a different Windows user typing in the account name and password for the local account you are logged into.
With respect to TI 2016, I don't have any experience with TI 2016 and cannot make any recommendations.
Please let us know if this works.

OK. I have it working even though I am not sure how.
First of all, I tried to cal Admin account and it would be still no go. In a funny way, I was surprised to see that 2016 TI does not offer an option to run the backup as a different user (unless I missed something).
So I decided to try to add the FTP as a network place and voilá it worked. I am still backing to FTP Connections, but now it works. I checked through FileZilla and it split the backup into 2GB files, so it seems that the FTP works properly. It shows the progress and I will let you know in 16 days if it worked :-)
I think it must be related to permissions to write to FTP as if once added as a network place, it is allowed to write into it.

It is no doubt related to permissions.
Congratulations on getting this resolved.
