Activation process of the version 2012

Thread needs solution

I think that the activation process in version 2012, was no good idea of acronis. A lot of people which i know decide that the version 2011 was the last version which the bought.

Activation allows you to install on up to 3 computers if you have a purchased the 3 licence version.

Of course if one pays for 3 licenses one gets to install on 3 machines (or virtual machines). But that sidesteps the spirit of the original question. I would rephrase it this way. If I am upgrading my copy of Acronis for home use, why shouldn't I be able to use it on all my home machines (4)? Everyone in the U.S. gives such blind deference to the software licensing requirements unilaterally imposed by each software company while the same software is being pirated in China at a 95% theft rate. Then, to add insult to injury here, where we do expect to at pay for *one* copy of the software before we use it, the industry has brainwashed and bullied the public into thinking they should only have the right to use the software they buy on one of their machines (actually Adobe and Microsoft even allow usage on two machines, but not Acronis). It's wrong to charge one person for every machine they use the software on. Can I play a CD on only one of my CD players? Can I read a book in only one of my rooms? I stream Netflix or Rhapsody to any computer in my home for one monthly rate, I am merely limited to logging on to only one at a time. Why can't Acronis can do that? It could, but it's greedy and wants us to buy multiple copies instead of finding a technological solution that protects against theft without ripping off its customers. What good are all the bells and whistles of doing network backups to extended drives when activation on one physical machine throws logistical hurdles into the users' attempts to recover a machine from another machine, among several possible scenarios, along with the virtual machine complications? I've been with Acronis through 4 versions, but 2011 is my stopping point. I think it's just plain greedy to demand a license for each machine in my home and I will find alternatives when my 2010 version becomes obsolete (I never used 2011 because I didn't like the new interface.). I think this will cost more in sales and ill will than it will ever gain in the sale of extra licenses, but it's Acronis' experiment if it wants to carry out.

In most case when software is 'bought' it is actually just the licence to use that is purchased, you never actually own the software.

It could be argued the other way, you are absolutely greedy in wanting to install the software on as many machines as you want wihtout paying for it.

Just pointing out your argument works both ways.

I've been installed ATIH 2012 twice, and the activation process doesn't work properly.
It's only possible activate using the option from another computer. It's so sad...
Also the activation from another PC with file doesn't work for me.
In general the 2012 version has a lot of bugs!!!
