Activation Trouble

Thread needs solution

I upgraded to 2013 PLUS in DEC 2012 and had no trouble activating it. Recently, though, I downloaded the 6514 Build and see the notice:
""Activation Required. Days remaining 30. Change Serial Number.Activate now."
Clicking on "Activate Now" produces no result. When I click on "Change" and enter the serial number, it is accepted, but then the system asks for the prior serial number. I entered that, but absolutely nothing happens thereafter.
I suspect this is a systemic problem at Acronis, but have no ways to ascertain that guess. Acronis Support won't help me because they say I've exceeded my 30 days (from DEC 2012). It's all quite byzantine IMO.
I'm totally frustrated and would be grateful for any advice.
thanks...~jess

Hi Jess,

This problem is typically the result of a file(s) not getting updated properly during an upgrade. Steps to resolve can be as easy as performing a repair install and reactivating, or uninstalling, running the Acronis Clean Up Utility, then reinstalling the latest build (currently 6514) straight away from your Acronis User Account.

Please start with these suggestions.  If you cannot get the activation requests to cease, let us know and we can advise on best next steps.

Thanks, SS. I know the 2011 version can be uninstalled via the Add/Remove Programs feature, but no Acronis prog is displayed there now, and I see no way to uninstall via the Programs listing. I ran a repair install yesterday, to no avail. Then, today I ran a straight install (admittedly atop the existing program) and the prog still insists I should activate.
I'll try the cleanup utility now and let you know how it goes.

Just finished taking out *all* Acronis progs and re-installing #1-- Acronis 2013 and THEN #2-- Acronis 2013PP. It's now obvious that the #1 must be installed FIRST!
Strange that I was allowed initially to install (or apparently install) #2 first.

Thanks again, shadowsports.

Jess,
Yes, the PP is an addon. The standard version of the product must installed first. Thanks for your follow up.
